Glasgow keeps up the pace

With significant medal hauls for all the home nations and huge television audiences, it is acknowledged that Glasgow hosted a very successful games this summer.

Almost as famous as the stars who won medals, many of the venues were also basking in the spotlight of success and were the subject of a lot of media attention as well as much well deserved praise.

One such venue was the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and the Emirates Arena that hosted the cycling and badminton respectively. The wide range of energy efficient pump solutions supplied by Grundfos delivered all of the HVAC needs to these venues, as well as ensuring that the all water boosting requirements were met. Grundfos also supplied the fire suppression system that will continue to keep these venues safe and secure for the next generations of athletes who will pass through these sporting portals.

Post games, clever engineering and the integration of hydraulics means this venue can also be transformed into a 200 metre, 6 lane athletes track as well as being capable of playing host to badminton, netball and basketball fixtures. All of which means that this centre will continue to service the local, national and international demands, for many years to come, as will all the supporting Grundfos pumps.
