Grundfos RC Pump

It uses about a third of the energy that standard centrifugal pumps normally use in the same circumstances. This is achieved through utilising variable speed capacity control and the use of intelligent pump protection that reduced the energy consumption of the pump considerably compared to traditional installations.

The success of the Grundfos RC pump can be measured in several different ways including the fact that it has achieved a 64% energy saving in ‘real’ situations. In addition the pump has won two awards, the Refrigeration Product of the Year at RAC Cooling Awards in London as well as the main prize with the Danish specialist magazine, Ingenioeren (the Engineer).

In terms of the future we know this product has huge potential in many different areas especially with large food retailers in Europe who have chosen to base their store concepts on refrigeration systems using CO2 as refrigerant.
