It started with Columbia….Vietnam….Serbia….and the list of 55 countries continued to file past, finishing with the UK…..Germany and in final position Denmark. This was the line-up of countries at the opening ceremony of the Grundfos Olympics that saw 1,200 Grundfos employees, from 55 countries gather together in Denmark to participate in 26 sports during the Grundfos Olympic Games.
These Olympics are held every four years and are a unique opportunity for lucky participants, as they not only bring people and cultures together but do so with a focus on ‘Teambuilding and Friendship’. At the end of the 2 days of competition, 384 medals had been presented and a distance of 10,611 km covered by the cyclists, swimmers and runners.
2015 is a special year for Grundfos in other ways too. Not only are these Olympics the 7th games to be held (started in 1989) but this is just part of the wider celebrations that sees this global £3bn pump manufacturer, who today produce in excess of 16 million pumps a year, reach their 70th anniversary in May.
