In recent years Grundfos have proven themselves all over the world as the pump supplier of choice when it comes to major sporting events. Perhaps this is because of the truly innovative nature of the Grundfos product portfolio or the breadth of the range can answer virtually any application demand. Or perhaps it is due to the depth of knowledge and experience Grundfos can draw on globally and then deliver locally, not just during an event but also in legacy.
Regardless of the reason – Grundfos are delighted to be involved in helping to create a little bit of history that places Scotland at its heart in 2014 .
6,500 athletes and officials from 71 countries that make up the commonwealth community will converge on Glasgow to participate in the Commonwealth Games. Glasgow will play host to this sporting spectacular between 23 July and 3 August 2014, and Grundfos will once again be playing an active role.
First held in Canada in 1830, the Commonwealth Games happen every 4 years and embrace medal events for athletes with a disability as well as elite athletes. This year 14 venues will play host to 17 sports.
With many years’ experience of successfully delivering landmark projects in Scotland, the Grundfos team are proud to be associated with so many of the new and existing sports centres as well as a diverse range of supporting venues.
We are all used to hearing the word ‘legacy’ used in relation to these events, Glasgow is different as this legacy has already translated into benefits for its citizens, even before the opening ceremony started.
