Our Water2Life programme started in Kenya in 2010, where thousand of people don’t have access to clean water. Within 3 years Grundfos employees provided access to clean water to more than 16,000 people with a total of 11 Lifelink water systems.
The northern part of Kenya is severely hit by frequent droughts and water shortages which made it a natural place for Water2Life to start up the first project. In this area, Kenyans were forced to collect dirty water from rivers and other water sources that often dried out completely during dry seasons. They walked long distances to get dirty water and waterborne diseases were a daily fight - but this has changed because of Water2Life.
Grundfos employees collected funds in 3 years through different activities being anything from celebrating UN World Water Day, selling cake, arranging water races, competitions, raffle dazzles, tombola, auctions, etc. After two and a half years, Grundfos employees reached the goal of ten water systems in Kenya, but we continued and reached a total of 11 Lifelink water systems within the set 3 years.
