Overview

Soft drink mixing

The number one challenge in the mixing process in soft drink productions is the handling of syrup. This is why all Grundfos pumps have been optimised to ensure flawless operation whenever this critical ingredient is part of the process.

The lobe pump is designed to gently transport the viscous syrup to the mixer, where an advanced mixing pump allows concurrent mixing and pumping of the soft drink, pushing it quickly along to the filling station. Both pump types are fitted with a flushed shaft seal system. This efficiently prevents the syrup from crystallising and in so doing prolongs the life of the pump. An added bonus of the flushed shaft seal system is that service is greatly facilitated because of the user-friendly construction.

Whether batch blending or continuous blending is predominant in a soft drink production, the process line will benefit from the CIP and SIP-compatibility of all Grundfos pumps. CIP and SIP-systems quickly prepare the production line for the next batch by efficiently cleaning tanks, pipes and process lines without having to dismantle any equipment.

Challenge Solution
Sugary media may crystallise and in so doing ruin the shaft seal. Grundfos pumps for the soft drink industry can be designed with a flushed shaft seal system, which efficiently prevent syrup and other sugary media from crystallising.
Media containing CO2 may be difficult to pump. Grundfos' range of pumps for soft drink productions includes robust multistage pumps designed specifically for the carbonising processes.
