Hygiene is the single most important parameter in upstream processes in biotechnology. Grundfos' sanitary single-stage and multistage pumps have been carefully optimised to comply with even the strictest of criteria.
Offering the highest aseptic design, the stainless steel pumps feature no edges, seams or screw heads on the electropolished inside surface – which efficiently prevents bacteria accumulation and consequently contamination of the media. This makes our unique pumps highly suitable for fermentation processes where it is essential that no contamination takes place.
All Grundfos' sanitary pumps are CIP and SIP-compatible. For the SIP-process we recommend our vertical aseptic pumps with impressive drainability properties. This design ensures that the pumps are drained completely before and after the sterilisation process.
