A new hospital in Aarhus is set to break a number of records both within and outside of Denmark. This facility that is due to be fully operational by 2019 will treat 100,000 inpatients and 900,000 outpatients annually which will make it one of the largest hospitals in Northern Europe.
With 223,000 m2 of new buildings that will merge with the 157,000 m2 existing hospital, this is a major investment that promises to deliver a range of leading edge medical services and that will place patient care at its core.
The finished project may be some way from completion, but some important decisions have already been made. This includes selecting pumps from the Grundfos MAGNA3 circulator family. These innovative, energy efficient circulators have proved to be a very popular choice since they launched in 2012.
Their success can be partially attributed to the wide range of commercial applications that they can be used in, as well as the fact that the MAGNA3 range incorporates many standard settings – some of which are new and unique - including AUTOADAPT which finds the optimum energy setting. Another reason for selecting these pumps is the fact that they can be integrated into a BMS system meaning that monitoring the pumps is easy.
With patient comfort in mind, these pump will be used within the heating and cooling systems as well as for ventilation and recycling of heat – proving that the MAGNA3 is truly a pump for all seasons.
